Youth Green Mapping

Calling All San Francisco Schools! Green Mapping makes a great neighborhood
project. We're seeking school groups who would like to undertake projects
during the coming academic year!

Youth Green Mapping projects are excellent tools for neighborhood learning. They:

  • Increase awareness of eco-resources, such as bike lanes, farmers markets and wildlife habitats, along with cultural sites that make our neighborhoods special.
  • Encourage students to develop a variety of skills: research, data-gathering, record-keeping and documentation through drawings or photography, map-making and communication.
  • Empower youth with a powerful tool for community awareness and advocacy.
  • Foster neighborhood pride and ownership.
